MARY HEON CARPOUSIS

On March 11,2017, Mary Heon Carpousis passed away peacefully surrounded by family who cherished her. Mary was born July 25, 1927 to Ifigenia and George C. Heon in Washington DC. Her father immigrated to the DC area from Greece and built successful businesses in Georgetown DC and Chase Chase MD. where Mary worked before marrying Dr. Aris Carpousis (deceased). Mary lived her entire life with her devoted sister Agnes Becky Heon in the family home. She is survived by her sister Becky and her brother Louis Heon and is predeceased by...

On March 11,2017, Mary Heon Carpousis passed away peacefully surrounded by family who cherished her. Mary was born July 25, 1927 to Ifigenia and George C. Heon in Washington DC. Her father immigrated to the DC area from Greece and built successful businesses in Georgetown DC and Chase Chase MD. where Mary worked before marrying Dr. Aris Carpousis (deceased). Mary lived her entire life with her devoted sister Agnes Becky Heon in the family home. She is survived by her sister Becky and her brother Louis Heon and is predeceased by brother, Constantino Heon. Mary's primary focus in life was as mother to her six children. Ferne and Aris Carpousis Jr. predeceased Mary. Mary is survived by Pamela Carpousis (Richard Seifert) Dr. Dean Carpousis, Catherine Carpousis (Robert Teachout) and Greg Carpousis (Mary Ann Carpousis) Mary adored her 9 grandchildren; Dr. Catherine Gouge, Christopher, Nicholas, Alexander, Gregory, Isabella and Alexandra Carpousis and Stephen and Paul Vallimarescu. With every part of her being, Mary was all love. Her devoted children and grandchildren will carry her love within them for the rest of their lives. We are forever grateful to the loving and devoted care our mother received from Julia Bonsu, Vida Anson and Vida Frimpong. Visitation will be at 10am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Washington, DC followed by services at St. Sophia at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.
