Michelle M. Pangallo a Washington, DC resident since 1976 passed away in West Palm Beach, Florida on February 26, 2017 of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Born on June 21, 1943, in Binghamton, NY, Michelle was the only child of Robert J. and Marie (Lake) Maloney who predeceased her. Michelle was a beautiful, loving and caring wife who is survived by her husband, Clement D. Pangallo. Raised in Binghamton, NY, Michelle attended Hamilton Elementary, West Junior High, and Binghamton Central High Schools. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Sorority. Michelle M. Pangallo a Washington, DC resident since 1976 passed away in West Palm Beach, Florida on February 26, 2017 of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Born on June 21, 1943, in Binghamton, NY, Michelle was the only child of Robert J. and Marie (Lake) Maloney who predeceased her. Michelle was a beautiful, loving and caring wife who is survived by her husband, Clement D. Pangallo. Raised in Binghamton, NY, Michelle attended Hamilton Elementary, West Junior High, and Binghamton Central High Schools. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Sorority. She met her future husband at SUNY Cortland where she graduated with a B.S. She was a member of the Alpha Sigma Sorority at Cortland. Michelle received an M.Ed. from Mississippi State College for Women. She received a Certificate in Association Management from University of Maryland's Executive Development Program, a year-long course of study, where she took first place in the class thesis competition. Michelle also completed training at the Center for Creative Leadership, Otto Kroeger Associates and Brandywine Management Group. Her working career began as a teacher. She taught in schools in New York, Michigan, Mississippi and Maryland. She was Counselor for Social Activities at Mississippi State College for Women. After leaving the teaching profession, Michelle became an accomplished and savvy Human Resources Management professional. She worked for the Defense Mapping Agency and ASAE before entering the Executive Search profession. She was a retained executive search consultant at D. E. Foster Partners and Whitney Barr delivering search services for an array of organizations ranging from Fortune 500 to VC-based emerging growth firms as well as Federal government and nonprofit groups. Michelle provided outplacement consulting and career transition strategy services for corporate and association executives, managers and senior military officers. In partnership with Stanton Chase International she co-designed and implemented an original job search coaching model for the R.H. Smith School of Business. This innovative program succeeded in raising their placement rate as well as the Business-school national ranking. She is a Cambridge University children's book author. She had many and varied interests, including floral design, taking courses in the US, Germany and France. Her love for things French included several visits to France. Her interior decorating skill created a beautiful, comfortable and inviting home. Her home and social activities were the basis for articles and blog postings. Working with Casey Trees and the National Cherry Blossom Festival Organization, Michelle led an effort to beautify Tait Park in Washington, DC by planting trees. Michelle was a wonderful, loving, special person in so many ways. She was the consummate conversationalist, reflecting beauty inside and out, in equal measure. Her generosity of spirit was unequalled. She was a ray of sunshine. She will be missed for her kindness, authenticity, incredible insights, wit, good humor, high style, honesty, gusto, and above all for the warmth she brought to those around her. A Visitation will be held at Joseph Gawler's Funeral Home, located at 5130 Wisconsin Avenue, NW on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Epiphany Catholic Church, 2712 Dumbarton Street NW, Washington, DC at Noon on Friday, March 17, 2017, followed by a reception at the Cosmos Club. Internment will take place in a family plot at Calvary Cemetery in Broome County, NY at a later date.
